Sterling Silver and Calligraphy Stone Necklace

This handmade sterling silver necklace features a calligraphy stone cabochon. Also known as Script Jasper, Coquina Jasper, Mariam Jasper, and Script Stone, the unique script-like pattern of the cabochon is due to shells and coral imbedded in the sedimentary rock. The stone can have naturally occurring tiny surface pits. I’ve set the stone in a sterling silver bezel and the back side of the pendant features my textural interpretation of the stone’s patterning etched in sterling silver. The pendant measures approximately 1-3/4” x 7/8” and hangs from a 20 inch oxidized sterling silver chain.
