Leatherwood Flower Earrings
$119.00 / Sold Out
These hand fabricated earrings feature my seed pod pattern etched into sterling silver. I've cut out lovely stylized leatherwood flowers from a Tasmanian leatherwood honey tin and set them behind a round window in the etched sterling, sandwiching the cutouts between two riveted diamond shaped sterling silver pieces. The silver has been given an oxidized, brushed finish. The diamond shapes measure approximately 3/4" across and hang from sterling silver earwires. The total earring length is approximately 1-1/4".
The honey tin series is part of my work for the Deja Vu Art and Fine Craft Show in celebration of America Recycles Day, featuring professional artists creating work made from recycled or repurposed materials. My work won Best of Show at this event in 2018. The 2019 event will be held in November in Columbus, Indiana.
