Sterling Silver and Leatherwood Honey Flower Earrings
These hand fabricated earrings feature floral fragments of a Tasmanian leatherwood honey tan that I’ve cut into circles, domed, and bezel set in sterling silver with a diamond shaped background. I’ve etched my seed pod pattern into the backside. The silver has been given an oxidized, brushed finish. The diamond shapes measure approximately 3/4" across and hang from sterling silver earwires. The total earring length is approximately 1-1/4".
The honey tin series is part of my work for the Deja Vu Art and Fine Craft Show in celebration of America Recycles Day, featuring professional artists creating work made from recycled or repurposed materials. My work won Best of Show at this event in 2018. The 2019 event will be held in November in Columbus, Indiana.
